A reimagined Apple Pacific Centre doubles the store’s original size and adds some new features, like 32-foot floor-to-ceiling glass panels, a “living wall” with 144 native plant species and one of the tallest staircases among Apple Stores worldwide.

The store, in Vancouver, British Columbia, reopened Friday after its massive makeover. Take a peek inside!

Apple Specialists welcomed hundreds of customers to the reopened store, one of 28 the company runs in Canada. Plus, free Today at Apple sessions celebrated the store and region throughout the weekend.

“We couldn’t be more excited to build on our longstanding history in Canada and welcome customers to the beautiful Apple Pacific Centre in Vancouver, a community filled with creativity and deep culture,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail + People, in a press release.

Apple’s been operating in the country for nearly four decades.

“Facing the Vancouver Art Gallery and its bustling public plaza, the new Apple Pacific Centre was designed to be a hub for community, a place that brings people together with the expert care and support from our fantastic team,” O’Brien said.

The expanded two-level store features 32-foot floor-to-ceiling glass panels. The first floor is where visitors find the full array of Apple products for sale. And as customers head for the second floor, natural light flows through a glass skylight onto a 45-foot grand staircase, one of the tallest in any Apple Store.

On the second floor, customers find a Forum and video wall where free Today at Apple sessions teach participants skills like coding, framing a photograph and editing video. Today at Apple also offers Group Booking for those who want to learn along with family, friends or colleagues.

Magnolia trees from the Pacific Northwest surround the facade and a “living wall” with 144 species of locally sources plants spans more than 40 feet, framing the store’s exterior.

“Designed to stay lush throughout the year, the living wall promotes bee and insect habitats, and naturally absorbs heat and traffic noise,” Apple said. “Like all Apple facilities, Apple Pacific Centre is powered by 100 percent renewable energy.”

The store’s team of 240 specialists collectively speak 36 languages.

On opening day, Apple and the Vancouver Art Gallery co-curated a video wall illustration from Canadian visual artist Sandeep Johal. And to celebrate the opening, local artists, musicians and photographers led Today at Apple sessions throughout the weekend.

Other sessions saw performances by Vancouver-based hip hop musician Boslen, a Q&A moderated by Apple Music radio host George Stroumboulopoulos, an iPhone Photo Lab with local portrait photographer Alia Youssef and a performance by Chloe Arnold. She’s the Emmy Award-winning choreographer of the new Apple Original Film for the holidays, Spirited.
