Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro is getting a massive $499 discount on Amazon ahead of Black Friday. The attractive discount drops the entry-level 16-inch MacBook Pro price to $1,999.99—$499 cheaper than its MSRP.

You can also grab the 1TB storage configuration for $400 off.

16-inch MacBook Pro is a productivity beast

Announced in October 2021, the M1 Pro/Max MacBook Pro features a new chassis with squarish edges. It is thicker than the Intel-based MacBook Pros it replaces. But the machines pack all the features that a professional or pro user can ask for. This includes a dedicated HDMI port and SD card slot, making it easy to connect external displays and transfer data off SD cards.

Apple claims its 2021 MacBook Pro lineup delivers “groundbreaking performance and amazing battery life.” And that’s true. The 16-inch MacBook Pro is up to 2x faster in professional workflows, while the 16-core Neural Engine delivers 5x faster machine learning performance.

Despite packing so much power, Apple claims the 16-inch MacBook Pro can provide 21 hours of video playback. And when the machine does run out of power, you can top up its battery to 50% using the MagSafe port in just 30 minutes.

Save a massive $499 on Apple’s best MacBook Pro

With a starting price tag of $2,499, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is expensive. Amazon has currently knocked $499 off its MSRP, making it way more affordable at $1,999.99. And if you need even more storage, the 1TB configuration is also available with a $400 off. This brings its price down to $2,299 from $2,699.

Amazon’s deals are much better than the $250 gift card that Apple will bundle with the M1 Pro/Max MacBook Pros during its Black Friday shopping event.

For more demanding workflows, consider getting the M1 Max variant of the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which comes with 32GB RAM. Its 32-core GPU can deliver up to 4x faster performance in graphically intensive workloads. Apple charges $3,499 for the machine, but Amazon has currently discounted it by $300 to $3,199.
