Looking to buy a new MacBook Air ahead of Black Friday? Apple’s 2020 M1 MacBook Air is down to $799.99 on Amazon after a $199.01 discount.

This deal makes the M1 Air much more affordable and better justifies its dated design.

Don’t be fooled by the M1 MacBook Air’s dated design

The M1 MacBook Air features Apple’s iconic wedge-shaped design. The slim chassis houses a 13.3-inch Retina display with a rated brightness of 500 nits. The left side of the machine houses two Thunderbolt 3 ports, while the right has a 3.5mm jack. There’s no MagSafe 3 port here, so you need to use the USB-C port for charging.

The superfast M1 chip inside the 2020 MacBook Air is paired with 8GB of unified memory. Apple claims the 8-core CPU inside the M1 is 3.5x faster while promising all-day battery life. In Cult of Mac’s M1 MacBook Air review, we opened over 650 Safari tabs on the machine without running into any performance issues. And thanks to the 16-core Neural Engine, machine learning (ML) tasks are up to 9x faster on the M1 Air.

Apple has continued selling the M1 MacBook Air despite announcing its successor—the M2 MacBook Air—at WWDC22 this year. The newer model comes with a redesigned chassis, a faster M2 chip, and a bigger display, but it also costs $200 more. This makes the M1 MacBook Air an excellent alternative for students and customers on a tight budget.

M1 MacBook Air again drops to its lowest-ever price

Usually, you can get the M1 MacBook Air with a $100 discount on Amazon. But ahead of Black Friday, Amazon has again dropped the machine to its lowest-ever price of $799.99 before taxes. The 20% discounted price is available on all three shades of the 2020 Air: silver, space gray, and gold.

Stocks are unlikely to last for long at this price. So, if you have been looking to buy the M1 MacBook Air ahead of Black Friday, this is the deal you should not miss.
