AirFly 2 from Twelve South can wirelessly connect your AirPods to any audio jack, like its predecessor. But the new version has a longer battery life, adds new volume controls and more. And it even costs less.
It joins other AirFly versions that offer additional capabilities.

AirFly 2 wireless audio adapter adds useful features at a lower price
Twelve South’s handy gizmo takes non-wireless audio and makes it wireless. Plug AirFly 2 into the 3.5mm audio jack on a plane’s entertainment system to enjoy movies with your AirPods. The same goes for exercise equipment at the gym.
The second generation model has been significantly redesigned to be smaller (check the original), but there’s room for a new set of volume controls that include a quick mute option.
Plus, the wireless audio accessory now promises over 20 hours of use on a single charge. A new battery life indicator shows when a recharge will be needed soon.
AirFly 2 launched Friday at $34.99, which is below the cost of the original.

Those who need more functionality might choose AirFly Duo, which can connect to two sets of AirPods. And AirFly Pro can do what the others can and also receive audio from an iPhone to play on a car stereo through the AUX IN port. Don’t miss the Cult of Mac review.
