Apple Watch Series 8, at least in the standard 41mm and 45mm models, will see the same design as Apple Watch 7 rather than adding new elements like flat edges or bigger screens, a new report indicated Friday.
And the source added there may be no new sensors and fewer color choices with Apple Watch 8 than with the 7 series.
Apple Watch 8 may stick with current design and drop some color options
The information, which contradicts some previous leaks about new design features, came in the form of a tweet from @ShrimpApplePro, the same leaker who first predicted the widely reported idea that iPhone 14 models will feature a new pill-and-hole display rather than a notch.
In addition, @ShrimpApplePro said standard Apple Watch Series 8 models, which could enter production this month, won’t include a titanium case.
However, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman said a new “extreme sports” version of the Apple Watch Series 8 will have a titanium case, keeping the option in the overall lineup. And the new rugged model may sport a larger display than standard Series 8 models.
As for new sensors and resulting new functions in standard series 8 models, @ShrimpApplePro said their source is not aware of any.

Fewer color options
Color options for the standard Apple Watch Series 8 will include Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and (PRODUCT)RED for aluminum models and Graphite and Silver for stainless steel models, @ShrimpApplePro said.
That’s actually fewer colors than you can pick from Series 7 models. If you buy a series 7, you can choose from other colors, too: Blue, Green, Gold and Space Black.
It looks like Apple Watch Series 8 models and watchOS 8 will roll out alongside the iPhone 14 series in September.
