Apple is giving new Apple Music student subscribers free Beats Flex earphones worth $69.99. The offer is only for eligible students in the United States and the U.K.
The limited-time offer has been running since June 22, 2022.
Students get free Beats Flex earphones when they subscribe to Apple Music
Apple’s yearly Back to School promotion for students is already live, offering them gift cards of up to $150. This Apple Music promo, however, is different. It is for students who will subscribe to the streaming service’s Student plan for the first time.
You need to make the first monthly payment to become eligible to get the Beats Flex earphones. They cannot be redeemed during the initial one-month trial period.
Once you are eligible, Apple will send an email within 30 days on how to redeem the Beats Flex earphones for free. You must redeem them within 90 days after that. During the redemption process, you will get the option to pick your preferred color for the earphones.
The promo cannot be combined with any other Apple Music offer. You can find the complete terms and conditions of the promotion here.
Unlike the AirPods, the Beats Flex are not truly wireless earbuds. The advantage of this is that they offer stellar battery life, with Apple claiming a battery life of up to 12 hours on a single charge. There’s also Fast Fuel charging, so a 10-minute can give an additional 1.5 hours of music playback. Thanks to the W1 chip, the Beats Flex will instantly pair with all your Apple devices. You can also seamlessly switch between devices and listen with a friend using Audio Sharing.
Apple Music Student plan’s price hiked by 20% in June
Apple Music’s student promo went live a couple of days before the plan’s subscription price was hiked by 20% in the U.S. Previously, students only had to pay $4.99/month for Apple Music, which is 50% of the regular price. However, the Apple Music student plan now costs $5.99/month after the late June hike.
