Apple’s excellent and portable powerhouse M1 MacBook Air is discounted to just $899.99 on Amazon. That’s a sweet 10% off its $999 MSRP.

The M2 MacBook Air might be the latest kid on the block, but that does not mean the M1 MacBook Air is any less capable.

M1 MacBook Air is a portable powerhouse

Apple refreshed the MacBook Air in late 2020 with its M1 chip. The exterior design remained the same, but the in-house chip brought a massive leap in performance and efficiency.

The Intel-based MacBook Air could not handle medium workloads for an extended period. The M1 MacBook Air continues with a fanless design but delivers exceptional performance. You can easily use it for photo and video editing tasks, open multiple browser tabs simultaneously, and more without any issues. In Cult of Mac‘s M1 MacBook Air review, we opened over 650 Safari tabs on the 2020 MacBook Air without any performance hiccups.

Despite the slim form factor, Apple claims the M1 MacBook Air provides 18 hours of battery life. This makes it an ideal machine for taking notes in your school or college.

Save 10% on the M1 MacBook Air

The M2 MacBook Air will launch soon and offer even better performance. However, it is also $200 more expensive than the current-gen Air. Amazon’s deal further widens that gap to $300 by dropping the M1 Air’s price to $899.99. This makes it an absolutely fantastic deal, especially if you are on a tight budget.

And if you need more space, the 512GB model is also discounted by 8% to $1,149.99. That’s $99 off its retail price of $1,249. The deal is available on all three shades of the Mac: silver, gold, and space gray.

The M2 MacBook Air, with its faster chip and new design, is the better machine. But it is hard to ignore the M1 Air at the discounted price.
