The Lululook Foldable Magnetic iPad Stand is ready to help turn your tablet into a small desktop computer. Your iPad attaches to it magnetically, and you can easily adjust the height and viewing angle. Or switch between portrait and landscape.

Just as importantly, when you don’t need it, the desktop stand folds up so you can carry it with you or easily put it out of the way.

This is absolutely one of the best iPad Pro or iPad Air stands I’ve ever used. Here’s why I love it.

Lululook Foldable Magnetic iPad Stand review

iPad is amazing on the go, and it’s also powerful enough to be your desktop computer. Especially with the improvements coming in iPadOS 16. Of course, you need a good stand for that to be practical. And the Lululook Foldable Magnetic iPad Stand is a brilliant one.

Just put the tablet in front of the stand and they’ll click together magnetically. When you’re done, a quick pull removes the iPad.

Its ability to fold is one of the primary advantages. I recently reviewed the Lululook Urban Magnetic iPad Stand.
It’s also outstanding, but can’t fold so it takes up a lot of room when not in use. The new model can fold almost flat – it fits easily in a drawer. Or I can take it with me on a trip.

Desktop stand almost becomes part of your iPad

The Lululook Foldable Magnetic iPad Stand has the easiest connection system possible: magnets in the iPad and stand cling together tightly. It’s wonderfully easy, and the two look like they’ve merged onto an all-on-one computer.

The magnetic connection is strong. I can pick up the iPad and shake it and the stand won’t come loose. And vice versa. Separating the two takes both hands – the tablet certainly won’t come loose because you tap the screen.

I attach and detach my iPad from the desktop stand half a dozen times a day, and I love that the connection is both easy and secure. And there’s no shelf needed to hold up the tablet so the bottom of the screen is easy to reach.

While I love the magnetic connection, it makes bulky protective cases incompatible. You can use something very slim like the SwitchEasy CoverBuddy, though. Or consider an Apple Smart Folio that you can easily slip aside.

Arrange it just as you like

The Lululook Foldable Magnetic iPad Stand uses a dual-hinge design. That lets it hold your iPad at a variety of heights and angles.

I’m using my 12.9-inch iPad Pro for the tests, and I can move the bottom of the tablet from about 2 inches above the desktop to about 3.75 inches above it. That’s in landscape mode.

I generally use the computer with the screen up high as possible so it’s closer to my eye level. But I sometimes move the iPad down so it fits below the external screen I have attached to the tablet.

Plus, Lululook’s desktop stand lets me angle the screen across a broad arc. Really any practical viewing angle is available. And I can rotate the iPad between landscape and portrait just as easily as I can adjust the viewing angle.

But that flexibility doesn’t bring instability. I can tap the screen and the tablet doesn’t budge because the hinges on the Foldable Magnetic iPad Stand are tight. That keeps the stand solidly holds up your tablet. But it also means it takes a bit of force to arrange the computer as you like it.

A foldable stand is a portable stand

The hinges let you adjust the height of the iPad stand, but they also mean you can fold it up and put it in a drawer when you need your workspace for something else.

That’s something you’ll probably also want to do if you’re simply not planning on using the stand for a while. The design is very practical, and looks it. Don’t get me wrong, the dark-gray paint job makes the accessory fit well with my iPad. But without the tablet attached, it’s not something I’m going to admire from a distance.

The dual-hinge design makes Lululook’s stand flexible, and it also make it portable. That said, the accessory weighs slightly under 2 pounds, and when fully folded is about an inch thick and 10.2 in. by 9.5 in. Alternately, you can make it 12.25 in. by 6.25 in. Either way, you can put it in a backpack, but it’s bigger and heavier than the iPad.

Compatibility matters

The Foldable Magnetic iPad Stand comes in two size options. The larger one is for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro third, fourth and fifth generations. This is the one I tested.

A smaller version of the stand fits the 11-inch iPad Pro first second and third generations. This is also for the iPad Air fourth and fifth generations, as the tablets are the same size.

One of the few drawbacks of the product is somewhat limited cross compatibility. If you someday move from an 11-inch iPad Pro to a 12.9-inch one, you’ll need a new stand. But if you stick with the same size tablet, looks like you’ll be OK.

Lululook Foldable Magnetic iPad Stand final thoughts

I love this Lululook stand for multiple reasons. I can attach then detach my iPad very easily, but I know it won’t get knocked off.  The stand lets me adjust the screen height and viewing angle. And I can put the accessory away when I don’t need it.

If you have a recent iPad Pro or iPad Air and are looking for a desktop stand, this one is worth seriously considering.

If you’re interested in alternatives, the Lululook Urban Magnetic iPad Stand ($79.99) that I mentioned earlier makes your iPad look like a tiny iMac. It isn’t as flexible as the foldable version, though.

If you want a flexible stand you can be sure is compatible with future devices, the Satechi Aluminum Desktop Stand ($44.99) works with every tablet I’ve ever tried it with.
