In addition to promoting the new #WWDC22 hashtag this week, Apple has made a special webpage highlighting community-hosted events set to happen during or after its Worldwide Developers Conference next week.

The events are a good opportunity for “learning, networking, and fun,” Apple said.

The “Beyond WWDC” page outlines a raft of events and gatherings related to the annual developer conference. Many of them are sponsored or led by developer organizations.

These are separate from Apple’s Digital Lounges that will provide spaces for networking and learning during the conference.

For example, among events on the Beyond WWDC page, volunteers are leading a “Community Week” across the globe. It will include watch parties, mentorship labs, educational talks, hackathons and more.

Other events include Office Hours, the Underdog Devs WWDC22 Watch Party, #iOSDevHappyHour IRL, try! Swift DUB DUB, DubDub Series, WWDC.playground, Extended Tokyo 2022, Devpass WWDC22 Special and more. You can find link to them all here.

Many of the events will take place online, but some of them are set to unfold in-person.

The WWDC22 event itself is taking place in a hybrid format with some in-person attendees, breaking from the last couple of years of strictly online-only conferences.

Hashflag and hashtag

In addition, the WWDC22 hashflag has also gone live on Twitter for the new #WWDC22 hashtag. A hashflag is a small icon that appears next to hashtags in tweets. The WWDC22 hashflag is Apple’s Swift icon in a circle outlined with rainbow colors.

Apple’s WWDC is a weeklong affair that will kick off with a live-streamed keynote at 10 a.m. PDT on Monday, June 6.
