The OWC Envoy Pro mini is a thumbdrive designed to work with almost any computer. It has both USB-C and USB-A connectors, and comes with up to 1TB of storage.
The tiny drive supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 and benchmark tests show it can transfer data at over 900 MBps.
OWC Envoy Pro mini supports Mac, iPad, Windows, Android and more
“The OWC Envoy Pro mini is a pocket-sized SSD with full-sized SSD performance and capacity for audio, photography, graphics, gaming, and general data storage/backup uses,” promises its developer.
It’s 3.1 inches by 0.7 inches by 0.4 inches, but still has room for a swiveling USB-A port and a USB-C port with a cover. The design allows you to use the drive with Mac, iPad, Windows PC, smart TV, gaming console, Android and more.
The accessory is designed for backward compatibility, so it supports older, slower USB standards. But when plugged into a device that offers USB 3.2 Gen 2, it can transfer data at up to 946 MBps.
The Envoy Pro mini is now available for pre-order in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities on OWC’s website. The prices are $79, $109 and $179, respectively.
Can’t wait? Consider the Kingston DataTraveler Max, a rival thumb-size USB-C drive. Or there’s the SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive Luxe, which has both USB-C and Lightning ports.
