Apple TV+ today committed to a second season of Severance, a series popular with viewers and critics alike. That’s good news for fans, as they’ll be able to keep unraveling the mysteries of Lumon Industries.

Season one wraps up April 7, so those who’ve held off watching until they could binge the show can soon dive in.

More Severance mystery coming to Apple TV+

Severance centers on a small group of workers at the harrowingly evil firm Lumon Industries. The employees agreed to a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives… before they found out what type of company they’d be working for.

The show is very popular, consistently staying in Reelgood’s Top 10 rankings — at one point hitting the No. 1 spot. And the review-aggregation site RottenTomatoes gives season one a 97% approval rating.

Cult of Mac reviewer Scout Tafoya wrote: “The unconventional show takes pointed satirical swipes at modern workplace culture, but ultimately offers a deeper look at the meaning of life.” (You can read his entire review of the first episodes here: “Severance thrills with a sci-fi descent into workplace hell.”)

Severance is a another hit for Apple TV+

Ben Stiller serves as both executive producer and director of the Apple TV+ series. The creator and writer is Dan Erickson.

“It’s really exciting to see the response from people who are loving the show — and the level of fan engagement,” said Stiller in a press release Wednesday. “It has been a long road bringing Severance to television. I first read Dan’s pilot over five years ago. It has always been a multi-season story, and I’m really happy we get to continue it. I’m grateful to our partners at Apple TV+ who have been behind it the whole way. Praise Keir!”

As noted, the season one finale of Severance airs this Friday. The show is an Apple TV+ exclusive. Subscribers can watch it and everything else with a $4.99-a-month subscription.
