There’s nothing like taking your work outside on a nice day, especially if it’s a Friday — if you live somewhere that allows it, weather-wise. The sounds of the birds. The feel of the breeze. The smell of exhaust fumes from nearby traffic.
But sometimes it’s not about half-playing hooky while working on your tan and pretending to work. Today’s featured setup, looking quite complete and perfectly productive, was driven out of the house by renovations.

The joys of taking your computer setup into the great outdoors
Software engineer Albert Nguyen, also known as Redditor Scary_Departure146, showed off the temporary setup in a post titled, “My home is restoring so here is my working desk in backyard.” He posted on March 14 from a place showing full foliage on the trees. So it’s not like he lives in Canada.
In fact, he might live somewhere with lizards, if this comment by another Redditor has any basis in reality: “It’s all fun and games until a lizard makes an appearance in your standup meeting.”
Responding to a commenter who spent a year working outdoors but only turned to cable management in month 11, Nguyen said the setup al fresco’s just temporary, for two days of renovations on the house. So no need to fuss much over how the cables look.
But what about rain, someone asked. Any chance of a monsoon season? We’re thinking he may live in such a place.
“I keep it under the roof, just afraid of theft,” he said.
So he lives in a place with full foliage in March, possibly lizards, a definite chance of rain and … crime. We’ve narrowed it down to much of the planet. But his last name is a common surname in Vietnam, so let’s go with that.
MacBook Pro and dual displays
Nguyen runs what appears to be a 16-inch MacBook Pro. Given that he’s a software engineer, we’ll guess his machine packs an M1 Max chip and all the performance that entails. It probably has plentiful integrated memory and a healthy amount of storage, too.
He runs the MacBook Pro with a 27-inch LG full HD display, complete with monitor lamp, that looks to be mounted on a dual arm along with the laptop. The other screen is a slightly larger, 32-inch Dell HD monitor, sitting to the left on the desk.
For input devices, he uses a Logitech wireless mouse and a compact, 65% layout Keychron K6 wireless mechanical keyboard with RGB backlighting and an aluminum frame.
Come to think of it, a setup like this needs a lizard or two as functional accessories. They can help with bug control.
