iPhone 13 is missing a useful noise cancellation feature for phone calls that is available on earlier models. It was initially believed that its absence was a bug that would eventually be fixed by Apple, but it seems that’s not the case.
Apple Support confirmed to an iPhone 13 owner that the feature is gone from the newest iPhone lineup. And it doesn’t look like it’s coming back.
Phone Noise Cancellation missing on iPhone 13
For around a month now, a growing number of users have been taking to online forums to ask why they can no longer find Phone Noise Cancellation in their Settings app on iPhone 13. It is usually within the Accessibility options.
Some of those users have continually probed Apple for an explanation with little success. But after weeks of waiting, one finally received a definitive response from Apple Support on Twitter — and it’s not good news.
“After working with Apple and a senior advisor for months saying to wait for an update to fix the issue, I got an update regarding the issue,” the user, identified only as “Steve,” told 9to5Mac. “It won’t be fixed and noise cancelation is intentionally disabled.”

We have an update on this. Phone Noise Cancellation is not available on iPhone 13 models, which is why you do not see this option in Settings.
It’s not a bug
“Ok so to confirm you are saying it’s not a software bug or issue,” Steve replied. “That the iPhone 13 series of phones just do not support noise cancellation for phone calls.”
“That is correct,” said Apple Support. The anonymous Apple rep then invited Steve to leave feedback about the change. If you’re interested in doing the same, you can visit Apple’s Product Feedback webpage, then select iPhone.
It remains unclear why Apple removed Phone Noise Cancellation from iPhone 13. The feature is still available on earlier iPhone models. We asked Apple for clarification and will update this post if we get a response.
