Beats released a new version of its Beats Studio Buds on Tuesday in a joint effort with the trendy mens fashion store Union. The limited-edition wireless earbuds commemorate Union’s 30th anniversary. You can snap them up at the store’s Los Angeles and Tokyo locations and, as of Wednesday, online.

The new-look Studio Buds sport a bold red, black and green design and matching packaging. The look takes inspiration from the Pan-African flag and recognizes Union’s roots as a Black-owned business. Union’s original frontman logo appears on the earbuds’ case.

“Music is the lifeblood of our store, so when Beats approached us, we were excited to work with them on these Buds. Collaboration is almost as important as music,” said Union founders Chris and Beth Gibbs. “It feels great to have worked with Beats on this project and to have collaborated with Vince Staples, a longtime friend of the store, to bring our vision to life.”

Beats Studio Buds: ANC and Find My integration

Beats Studio Buds, first released in June 2021, were the first Beats true wireless earbuds to offer active noise cancelling (ANC) and Transparency Mode. They feature six microphones to help reduce exterior sound and improve phone call quality. Despite a compact form factor, they rivaled AirPods Pro in some ways.

The Studio Buds don’t use Apple’s H1 or W1 chip. So, while they pair easily with an iPhone or iPad, they need to be paired one device at a time. They also lack in-ear detection.

They do, however, integrate with Apple’s Find My application. That allows you to pair them with Bluetooth and locate the earbuds by playing a sound or using their last known location.

If you like the new look and want to snap up a pair of Beats Studio Buds, you can find them at Union’s Los Angeles and Tokyo stores. Or, you can buy them at the store’s U.S. or Japanese websites as of Wednesday, December 1 at 9 a.m. PST.

Price: $149.99.
