Gorgeous iPhone wallpapers show off internal components

Apple packs hundreds of tiny components into every iPhone to make them the fastest, most impressive smartphones on the market. Each one is painstakingly designed to fit perfectly alongside each other inside a super-slim form factor.

Most of us only see those components in teardown videos because we don’t take our smartphones apart (which is a good thing). But if you have an interest in technology and how things work, they’re surprisingly beautiful to look at.

So beautiful, in fact, that the inside of your iPhone makes for a stunning Home screen wallpaper — which is why BasicAppleGuy made a whole bunch of them, inspired by iFixit’s teardown, in a range of stunning color options.

“Transistor by transistor, screw by screw, these wallpapers slowly came to life over many hours,” they wrote. “From there, the projects were imported into Pixelmator to create a variety of stunning variations for your devices.”

The wallpapers are available for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, but they look great on any model. And you can download them all for free (though tips are encouraged) from the BasicAppleGuy website.

Simply select the wallpaper you want for the iPhone you’re using to open it in a new tab, then tap and hold to save it to Photos. When setting it as your wallpaper, disable perspective zoom to prevent the edges from being cut.
