CoM got invited to the PepCom Digital Experience special press event Wednesday evening, so I took the opportunity to spend some time with Motorola’s new “iPad killer.” Video and photos after the jump.

Features like the newest version of Android 3.0 (aka Honeycomb), dual core processor, front and rear facing cameras, and 720p display definitely make this new tab noteworthy. And from what I saw, it seems like a neat tab with potential, but to be honest, Motorola wasn’t really ready to show this thing. The display Xoom unit I got to play with only allowed me to watch demo videos of what the Xoom was (probably? hopefully?) going to be able to do once it ships.

The Xoom seems promising if you’re into Android tabs (wink wink), but I guess we’ll have to wait till we can get our grimy hands on an actual functioning unit to find out. The WiFi version is scheduled to ship “later this quarter.”
