Apple Unleashed event bugThere’s good news for those bored by the HomePod mini’s color options. Apple just announced at Monday’s “Unleashed” event that its smart speaker will soon be available in three additional hues.

The price isn’t going up. But there’ll be a wait to order the fresh options.

HomePod mini looks even more like bar candle

HomePod mini buyers will be able to choose from yellow, orange and blue. The device already came in space gray and white.

“With new vibrant colors, HomePod mini fits in even more places and delivers amazing sound, the power of Siri, and simple and secure smart home controls, all while protecting your privacy,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s VP of Worldwide Product Marketing.

Aside from the new colors, the smart speaker isn’t being upgraded.

Big sound from a little speaker

The HomePod mini surprisingly good audio quality for such a small device, according to the Cult of Mac review.

The device also packs the Apple U1 chip that makes handing music off to other devices as seamless as can be. And there’s Siri integration for checking the weather, setting alarms, controlling other smart devices and more.

Available now and later

HomePod mini in the original hues is available now on Apple.com. The fresh colors won’t be available until November. A more exact date has yet to be announced. Whatever the look, HomePod mini costs $99.

Users of the smart speaker might be interested in the new Apple Music Voice Plan. It’s a cheaper option for those willing to control the streaming service entirely through Siri.
