Mophie just took the wraps off an extensive collection of accessories that take advantage of the MagSafe system of magnets in the iPhone 12 series. This includes portable batteries, stands, charging pads and vent mounts.
Apple created the MagSafe system for wireless power. It uses magnets to align the charging coils in an iPhone 12 and the charger. But those same magnets can be used to attach other accessories too.
Range of new Mophie MagSafe-compatible accessories
The Snap+ Juice Pack Mini ($49.95) includes a 5,000mAh internal battery. Clip it to the back of the iPhone with magnets to recharge the handset. And it has a USB-C input/output port.
The Snap+ Wireless Charger ($34.95) clings to Apple’s latest handset and provides up to 7.5W of power. Or it can send up to 15W to other Qi compatible smartphones.
MagSafe is only available on the iPhone 12 series, but the Mophie Snap Adapter ($19.95) includes a pair of metallic rings that add magnetic hold to any Qi-enabled smartphone.
The Snap+ Wireless Vent Mount ($49.95) holds the iPhone 12 so a driver can use it to navigate, and the iOS device gets power at the same time. Or there’s a simpler Snap Vent Mount ($29.95) without the built-in charger.
All of these are available Tuesday on Mophie’s website.
Additional options on the way
Mophie plans additional MagSafe-compatible accessories for release later in 2021.
The Snap+ Powerstation Stand ($69.95) will combine an external battery and a stand. It offers 10,000mAh and clings magnetically to the iPhone 12 while wirelessly charging it at up to 7.5W. And an adjustable stand folds out for watching video. Plus, the accessory also includes a standard one-quarter inch tripod socket to take video calls and content creation to the next level.
Mophie’s Snap+ Wireless Stand ($59.95) will hold the iPhone in landscape or portrait mode, all while delivering a steady charge of up to 7.5W of power.
