Apple Fitness+ will introduce new workouts geared specifically toward pregnant women and older adults next week, the company said Thursday. There will also be new Yoga, High Intensity Interval Training and Strength workouts for beginners coming soon to Apple’s subscription fitness service.

The new workout categories launch April 19 on the $9.99-a-month subscription service built around Apple Watch. Apple Fitness+ debuted in late 2020 with 10 workout categories and a team of high-energy trainers.

Apple Fitness+ Workouts for Pregnancy

The first of the news categories is Workouts for Pregnancy. Focused on helping women stay active as they prepare for a new baby, the new Workouts for Pregnancy will launch with 10 workouts covering Strength, Core and Mindful Cooldown. Each is 10 minutes long, and designed to accommodate any stage of pregnancy and any fitness level.

Workouts are led by Fitness+ trainer and mom-to-be Betina Gozo, who is joined by trainers and new moms Emily Fayette and Anja Garcia.

Workouts for Older Adults

Workouts for Older Adults will help users stay active at any age with a focus on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and mobility. It will launch with eight workouts, all 10 minutes long. Many require no gear aside from a light dumbbell, and show modifications with a chair or against a wall to make them easier.

The exercises are led by Fitness+ trainer Molly Fox, who is joined by Gregg Cook for Strength, Dustin Brown for Yoga, Bakari Williams for HIIT, and Jhon Gonzalez for Dance.

Workouts for Beginners

To help more Fitness+ subscribers get started and gain confidence before trying the weekly studio workouts, new Yoga, Strength and HIIT workouts will be available in Workouts for Beginners. These are targeted at those just getting started, consider themselves a beginner or are getting back into exercise after a long break.

All three new programs will become available on April 19.

New Apple Fitness+ trainers

Apple is also increasing the number of trainers fueling its fitness program.
