Siri may have just revealed the date for Apple’s rumored April event. According the voice assistant, Apple’s next event will take place one week from now on April 20.
This is likely to be the event at which Apple debuts its next-gen iPad Pro, the eagerly anticipated AirTags item trackers and a new iPad mini.
Ask Siri, ‘When is the next Apple event?’
To coax Siri into giving up the deets, just ask, “When is the next Apple event?” As spotted by MacRumors, Siri will then answer, “The special event is on Tuesday, April 20, at Apple Park in Cupertino, CA. You can get all the details on Apple.com.”
Except right now you can’t — because Apple has yet to officially announce the event. However, this date coincides with other reports about the planned release date of the new iPads expected this month.
Based on recent leaks, I would expect to see the new iPad Pro announced early next week. @markgurman says launch between April 16-30. @jon_prosser has heard a new product launch at the end of next week. And Kang (97% acc.) has also corroborated a mid-April launch. We're so close! pic.twitter.com/R7RJNmeQIc

It seems highly likely Apple will officially announce the event later today. Like all other Apple events in the past year, this will probably be prerecorded rather than held in front of an audience in the Steve Jobs Theater. Apple already announced that June’s Worldwide Developers Conference will go virtual, making a live April event highly unlikely.
The apparent Siri slip-up is the best bit of evidence yet that an April Apple event will take place. Originally, Apple tipster Jon Prosser said one would happen in March — only to wind up shaving his own eyebrows when his guaranteed prediction didn’t pan out. He then said Apple would produce an April event instead.
