Crazy concepts merge Apple products with popular car models

Apple Car: Hyundai Ioniq Electric x Apple Mouse
It’s a car. It’s a mouse. It’s a mashup of a car and a mouse. But it’s probably not the Apple Car.

It’s an open secret that an Apple Car is on the drawing board, but no one has a clue what it’ll look like. A new collection of concept designs doesn’t make serious suggestions but takes the idea for a fun spin. The designs combine popular car models with Apple products

Take a look at what they dreamed up.

The concepts are a tongue-in-cheek project by LeaseFetcher, a UK-based company that helps users lease cars. Most of them involve electric vehicles as Apple is almost certainly contemplating a self-driving EV.

Apple Car and product mashups

One design mixes the Hyundai Ioniq Electric with the Magic Mouse. The result is a vehicle “moulded into one smooth curve,” according to Alasdair Cherry from LeaseFetcher.

Apple Car: Honda E x iMac G3
What if you combined a classic Mac with an EV?

The Honda E has a retro design, so the concept designers combined it with the classic iMac G3 desktop. There’s the same split-colour design with Bondi blue.

Apple Car: Kia Soul EV x iMac Pro

Or there’s a mashup of the the Kia Soul EV and the recently discontinued iMac Pro. The curvy shape of the desktop makes its way to the crossover SUV, and the large display becomes a big windshield.

This one is extra interesting because Kia is reportedly one of the car makers Apple is talking with about making its self-driving vehicle.

Apple Car: Nissan GT-R x iPhone 12 Pro
There’s a lot of iPhone in this sports car.

And LeaseFetcher’s designers mixed together the Nissan GT-R super car and iPhone 12 Pro. The concept vehicle has headlights shaped like the handset’s cameras, door handles that look like the phone’s buttons, and a grill reminiscent of the iPhone 12’s top edge.

Apple Car: Toyota Supra x iPod Classic
The ClickWheel wheels are a nice touch.

A mashup of the Toyota Supra and iPod Classic results in a truly sporty-looking Apple Car concept. “Pictured in the Supra’s Turbulence Grey, the alloys are styled like the iPod ClickWheel,” pointed out Cherry. “The Supra’s three-part grille is replaced with a minimal smooth sweeping front, with Apple’s logo taking centre stage.”
