Real-world images of the third-generation AirPods allegedly leaked out Wednesday. These could give an early look at the in-ear headphones that might launch before the end of March.
The pics supposedly show that AirPods 3 won’t borrow a major feature of AirPods Pro.
The images come from LeaksApplePro on Twitter.

If real, they indicate that Apple is not including the silicone ear tips from the Pro model in this new version. But the earbud’s body appears to be thicker while the stem seems to be shorter.
AirPods 3: What previous leaks say
Trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities predicted last autumn that Apple’s next wireless earbuds will boast an AirPods Pro-style design, only without active noise cancellation. But other sources say some features from the Pro model should be expected, including a pressure-relieving system and touch controls.
They’re expected to replace AirPods 2 in Apple’s product lineup. That model launched back in March 2019. But AirPods Pro will remain.
AirPods 3 allegedly will be a highlight of a March Apple product-release event, along with a new iPad Pro, Apple TV and the debut of AirTags tracking tags.
