Every good game deserves an expansion pack. Just like Apple TV+’s game-themed Mythic Quest deserves a season 2. New episodes of the twisted comedy premiere in May as the game developers struggle to create an expansion pack for their hit Raven’s Banquet.

Apple released a trailer of the upcoming season on Friday to prepare viewers for the crazy. Watch it now.

Mythic Quest wildly mixes workplace humor with game jokes

Season one of Mythic Quest debuted in 2020 to very positive critic reviews.  The offbeat comedy follows a game-development company lead by Ian (Rob McElhenney), who’s brilliant but hilariously arrogant. Other characters are a mix of eccentric personalities and tightly-wound business types.

In the new episodes, Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao) has been promoted to co-creative director with Ian, but the two can’t agree on a direction for an all-important expansion pack for their game. At all. Meanwhile, the testers (Ashly Burch and Imani Hakim) test the bounds of an office romance while C.W. (F. Murray Abraham) and David (David Hornsby) have their own problems.

Mythic Quest season 2 global debut on Friday, May 7, 2021 on Apple TV+. The first season is available to stream now.

There was some controversy on the set during filing of the upcoming episodes, with cast and crew struggling to deal with COVID-19.

Apple’s streaming video service is still fairly new but offers 50+ series and films, either available now or coming soon. There are thrillers, crime dramas, comedies and documentaries. Apple TV+ costs $4.99 a month.
