Apple TV+ is launching a podcast dedicated to For All Mankind, the streaming service’s alternate-history show about the space race. The podcast will serve as a platform for real astronauts and scientists to discuss space travel with the series’ cast and creators.

The first episode of the podcast debuts Friday, the same day season two of the sci-fi series arrives.

In For All Mankind: The Official Podcast, Apple says, “fans of the series and its themes can hear host Krys Marshall (Commander Danielle Poole) discuss what really goes down beyond our atmosphere with guests from the series, space experts, and former astronauts — plus never-before-heard audio that shows how astronauts achieve the impossible.”

The audio program is coming February 19 to Apple Podcasts.

Apple created a trailer for For All Mankind: The Official Podcast. Watch it now.

For All Mankind visits an alternate history

In For All Mankind, critical events of the 20th-century space race don’t play out the way they did in our world. The first season covers America’s reaction to seeing a Soviet become the first man on the moon. It is available to stream now on Apple TV+.

Season two jumps forward to 1983, with tensions between the United States and its communist archrival at their height. It fires up this Friday with a first episode. The remaining nine will air one per week on subsequent Fridays.
