Apple’s long-awaited AirTags personal item trackers might finally jump from rumor to reality. A reliable prognosticator says these accessories will reach customers in March.
And the same goes for an updated iPad Pro. Previous leaks also point to the tablet coming out before the end of Q1 2021.
It’s possible Apple will produce an online event in a few weeks to call worldwide attention to the debut of these products.
AirTags launch date could be soon
Jon Prosser from the Front Page Tech YouTube show said via Twitter on Friday, “AirTags are still on for March. Haven’t heard of any further delays this time.”

The tipster is building on a prediction he made last autumn when he first said AirTags would be out in March 2021.
But the full wait stretches out much longer than that. The item-tracking tags, which apparently will be Apple’s rival to Tile, have been the subject of leaks going back to 2019. Attach an AirTag to a keychain or a purse, and an iPhone can easily track down the device if it gets misplaced.
2021 iPads Pro in the offing, too
A followup tweet from Prosser talks about a new Apple tablet. Responding to a question about the upcoming iPad Pro, he said, “Also March, as far as I know.”

That falls in line with other sources. Both Digitimes and MacOtokara already pointed to a March debut for the next-gen iPad Pro.
Unconfirmed reports say the signature feature of the 2021 iPad Pro will be a mini-LED display, improving the screen visuals. It might also get additional magnets for new accessories.
It’s widely expected to run a speedier version of Apple’s A14 processor, which debuted in the iPad Air 4 and iPhone 12. There’s no word yet on price.
