A mere day after the release of a fresh macOS version, Apple went ahead and seeded to developers macOS 11.3 beta 1. The company isn’t one to sit on its hands.

The new beta includes small improvments to Safari and Reminders. And enhancements to a range of other features too. Plus bug fixes, of course.

Apple’s own macOS 11.3 release notes are very thin. But Rene Richie shared on Twitter a list of the biggest changes.

He mentions “more customization options in Safari” and “better sorting options in Reminders.” And the new version also includes a facelift for the Apple News+ tab.

In addition, macOS 11.3 includes support for the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, as well as the Xbox Series X and Series S controller. iPhone and iPad will also be able to use these when iOS 14.5 and the iPadOS 14.5 are released.

macOS 11.3 beta 1 seeded only to developers

Apple gave developers access to macOS 11.3 beta 1 on Tuesday, but the general public can’t download the pre-release version yet. It’s restricted to those in the Apple Developer Program, which costs $99 a year.

The full debut of this version will be available to everyone when beta testing is complete. This takes weeks or months.
