The $1 billion Apple campus under construction in Austin will reportedly include a six-story hotel.

There’ll eventually be room for 15,000 employees in the extensive collection of buildings that are going up now in Texas. Adding this hotel allows visitors to stay on site.

The City of Austin approved a revised site plan for Apple’s campus on April 29, according to CultureMap Austin. The big change from the original plan is the addition of a 75,500-square-foot hotel. There’ll be 192 rooms.

There’s no word on whether this will be part of a hotel chain.

Apple goes big in Austin, Texas

The iPhone maker broke ground on the 133-acre Austin facility in November 2019. It’ll include roughly 2 million square feet of office space. When it opens in 2022, there’ll be 5,000 employees with plenty of room to grow.

It’s part of a broader plan to expand Apple’s presence in the city, where it already produces the 2019 Mac Pro.

The new facility will run on 100% renewable energy. Some from on-site solar panels. And thousands of trees are planned for the site, which will be designed to maximize green space.
