Over at his site The Brooks Review (which has been publishing a lot of good stuff recently), Ben Brooks wrote up his thoughts on a variety of writing applications for Mac OS X.
His faves, it seems, are Ulysses (pictured) and TextMate – though he has opinions about many others.
My favorite of those opinions is his succinct review of Microsoft Word: “Honestly you couldn’t pay me enough to write in this wretched piece of crap.”
This is a topic that crops up fairly regularly here at the Cult and elsewhere, so here’s your chance folks: if you have a fave writing application, tell us what it is in the comments. And better still, tell us why it’s your favorite.
