StatusBuddy is a brand-new app for macOS that lets you quickly check on the status of various Apple services in just one click.

The app sits in your Mac’s menu bar where it’s always accessible and displays a red badge when an Apple service is running into issues. It pulls information from Apple’s official status pages so you don’t have to go hunting for it.

Apple’s services run into issues more frequently than you might think, but it’s sometimes hard to tell whether those issues are affecting everyone or just you. StatusBuddy can help you find out in an instant.

Built by Guilherme Rambo, the creator of the AirBuddy software that makes using AirPods with your Mac even better, StatusBuddy is a lightweight but useful app that could save you a lot of time.

It’s also completely free.

StatusBuddy is there when you need it

StatusBuddy won’t get in your way or make you go searching for it when you need it. It sits in your Mac’s menu bar where it’s always easy to find, and just one click is all it takes to check on the status of Apple’s services.

The app can keep tabs on things like the App Store, App Store Connect, iCloud, and iTunes — among a ton of other Apple services. It can also check the status of TestFlight, Apple’s beta testing platform.

A handy search bar lets you find services that aren’t displayed by default. And if any of Apple’s services runs into issues, StatusBuddy will display a red badge that lets you know something’s wrong.
