It was brought to my attention that the ability to make calendars in iPhoto ’11 has gone missing. I missed it too since that isn’t a feature that I’ve spent a lot of time with. I’m still buying my calendars at  online or at a local store.

Apple is aware of this and in summary had this to say about it: “Ordering calendars with iPhoto ’11 is not currently available. ”

They then took it upon themselves to answer your questions in advance about this issue, which you can read by clicking the link below.

Apple has given themselves a deadline of “as soon as possible” so I’m unable to tell you to mark your calendars about when calendar creation will reappear in iPhoto ’11. So keep your eyes on Software Update.

Will I be able to create and order calendars in iPhoto ’11 in the future?

Yes. We will be adding the ability to create and order calendars in iPhoto 11, and these features will be available very soon.

Will my previously created calendars be preserved so I can order them in the future?

Yes. When calendar ordering returns, you will be able to edit and order your previously created calendars.

When will calendars return to iPhoto ’11?

Apple is working to bring calendars back as soon as possible.

If I have a previously created calendar that I need to order, what do I do?

Do not upgrade to iPhoto ’11 at this time. Ordering from older versions of iPhoto will continue to be supported.

What if I’ve already upgraded to iPhoto ’11 and I want to order a calendar that I created before upgrading? Should I reinstall an older version of iPhoto?

No. Attempting to reinstall older versions of iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto ’11 can be problematic and is not recommended. You can export the photos you would like to use out of iPhoto ’11 and build your calendar in an earlier version of iPhoto on another computer. However, the ability to order calendars in iPhoto ’11 will become available very soon.
