FaceTime: just smiles going farther?

When Steve Jobs announced at the Back to the Mac event that the iPhone 42 s video chat feature FaceTime would be spreading to all Macs, our thoughts naturally turned to porn.

While interactive video sex chats are nothing new, FaceTime brings portability and convenience or, as the Apple site touts it: “Now your smile goes even further” — so we wanted an opinion from iP4Play, the first porn service to target FaceTime when it was only available for the iPhone 4.

Cult of Mac spoke with Travis Falstad, managing director of iP4Play, about these exciting new developments and “porn-free” devices.

A sample chat from an iP4Play ad.

Cult of Mac: How do you think FaceTime coming to all Macs will affect services like iP4Play?

Travis Falstad: The news certainly helps the iP4Play service as it increases our addressable market overnight by four to five times.

Since we’re already entrenched with early adopters and users of FaceTime on the iPhone 4 and new iPod Touch, this increasingly helps and enables them to experience our lovely women at their desktops or laptops on larger displays.

CoM: How will the availability on more platforms change the marketing of your service?

TF: We knew from day one that FaceTime would receive a major push by Apple from a new available technology standpoint, so our marketing has always been focused and targeted to users of FaceTime.

The increase of that install base of FaceTime by four to five times its current size only expands our total addressable market as we continue to push iP4Play as the one and only place to view and enjoy live adult entertainment via FaceTime.

CoM: Do you think Steve Jobs can keep Apple devices porn free?

TF:We certainly respect Steve Jobs’ decision to keep porn out of the app store but it would be a stretch to make Apple devices “porn free” unless he wanted to obstruct their access to porn on the Internet.

Millions of Mac users view porn daily on their Macs and we only think that number grows with the addition of FaceTime on the Mac in conjunction with the iP4Play experience.
