Having launched back in 2012, Candy Crush Saga is, believe it or not, one of the veterans of App Store gaming. And, boy, has it hit the milestone to prove it!

This week, the game that’s known for having more levels than virtually every other game released its landmark 5,000th level.

Candy Crush hit its 1,000th level in 2015. It reached level 2,000 a year later in 2016. The 3,000th level followed in 2017, and the 4,000th one year after that in 2018.

During that time, the game has racked up some amazing stats. In total, players have swiped 167 million miles while playing Candy Crush. That’s 5x the distance from Earth to Mars. The franchise has also grown to four titles in total. Other games include Candy Crush Soda Saga, Candy Crush Jelly Saga and Candy Crush Friends Saga.

Back in 2015, King Digital Entertainment — makers of Candy Crush — was acquired by Activision Blizzard for a massive $5.9 billon. Sure, Candy Crush may not be quite as big a pop culture giant as it was at its height, but there’s no doubt that it’s still got a whole lot of fans.

With that in mind, we’re excited to see the 10,000th level. At the current rate, that should happen in 2024 — around the time of, theoretically, the iPhone 13S lands in stores!
