Spotify has updated its Spotify Stations app with support for CarPlay. The app is intended to provide a radio station-like experience, which customizes itself to your tastes.

With its latest update, you no longer need to use your iPhone to access the app. If you’re a CarPlay user, you can do it right from your dash.

“Easily create stations for all the music you love, all for free,” the app description reads.

“With the world’s music at your fingertips, finding the right thing to play can feel like a challenge. Stations gets you to music instantly—no searching or typing needed. As Stations learns more about what you like, it creates stations packed with the music you love, made just for you. Stations is an experiment by Spotify, and we’re always looking for ways to make it better.”

Spotify Stations is available from the App Store for free. In addition to CarPlay support, the update also includes an assortment of bug fixes.

Spotify from your dash

Spotify and Apple Music are the two big hitters in the streaming music world. However, while Spotify isn’t making profit yet, it’s nonetheless the biggest of the music streaming giants. When it revealed its latest user numbers back in April, Spotify reported that it had passed 100 million paid users. This gives Spotify around 2x the number of premium subscribers as the last reported figures for Apple Music. Apple Music may still have more paid subscribers in the United States, though.

CarPlay is Apple’s in-car infotainment technology. It launched five years ago in March 2014. Since then, along with Alphabet competitor Android Auto, it has become a standard part of the automotive industry.
