iOS 4.2 Beta Jailbreak Should Be Available On Sunday

We’ve only had the iOS 4.1 jailbreak for a few days, but the most publicly vocal (and, let’s face it, beefcakiest) member of the Dev Team, MuscleNerd, has just hit his Twitter feed, letting people know that a new version of the Limera1n and greenp0ison jailbreaks will be coming on Sunday and support iOS 4.2.

Well, iOS 4.2 beta… we’ll have to wait until November to see the final OS update, and the Dev Team is going to have to see what exploits Apple patches in at the last minute (as they always tend to do) before they release an ETA on an official iOS 4.2 jailbreak.

That all said, if you’re happy running the beta in the meantime — and given how it adds multitasking support to the iPad for the first time, we imagine there are a lot of people who are very happy indeed running the beta — the Dev Team should have you covered this Sunday.

This update will also be officially compatible with the AppleTV 2, but as before, don’t expect to do too much for that: there’s no third-party software or even app launcher ready for the AppleTV 2.
