Apple has opened up registrations for its annual Apple Camp in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, among other countries.
The camps are aimed at kids, who want to learn to use Apple devices in a fun, educational way. They take place over a three-day period, consisting of sessions of lasting 90 minutes each. Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Apple has run similar camps for kids since 2003. In recent years, it has ramped up efforts as part of its push to educate people on things like coding, which Apple does using its Swift programming language.
What’s on offer this year?
Tbe sessions include “Creating Your Own Song with Garageband,” “Designing Your Dream Park with iPad,” “Coding Fundamentals and Programming Robots,” and “Directing Your Own Movie with Clips and iMovie.” Each of the different three-day “camps” teaches the necessary skills to get acquainted with these tools. Apple will provide the necessary equipment, although it’s obviously extra beneficial if you’ve got them at home to keep practicing after the sessions end.
The first of these sessions kicks off July 7. The program will run through August 3 at Apple Stores.
In addition to the U.S., Canada and Mexico, registration is also available to other countries starting today. These include Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. Registration for Austria, China, Taiwan, and the U.K. will open up on June 24.
