In some zombie games, you play as the zombies. Others make you play as the survivors. And in Infectonator 3: Apocalypse, you play as the plague.

It’s a fun — and grotesquely unique — spin on the genre that’s sure to appeal to gamers with a love of tasty, tasty brains. Now after a stint on PC, courtesy of Steam, it’s now spread to iOS, too. Check out the trailer below.

Infectonator dates all the way back to the golden age of Flash games on PC. The third installment in the series, Infectonator 3 continues the mayhem.

There’s no real story to it: just a whole lot of campy, B-movie zombie action. The game is divided into a series of short levels, in which you must place your zombies in key locations amidst a crowd of regular humans. You’ll need to use smart strategy to select your placement, but after that it’s just about watching the destruction take place.

Despite that simple premise, there’s a surprising amount of variety on show, both in settings and the different zombies on offer. All of this is beautifully packaged with plenty of genre-specific laughs to be had by fans. With 200 varied levels on offer, and a surprising amount of depth, it’s sure to keep your attention.

Infectonator 3: Apocalypse can be downloaded from the App Store, priced $4.99. If you’re a zombie-lover, this is one game you won’t want to miss!
