Bored of traveling around on foot in Fortnite? There’s some good news: Epic has finally introduced the new, eagerly awaited Drifboard” into the game. It allows players to catch some air and pull a few tricks while they’re going about their running and gunning business.

The Driftboard allows you zoom past your fellow players and competitors with impressive speed. You can even loot and revive allies without having to set foot off the board. Check it out in action below.

Fortnite update 7.40

The Fortnite 7.40 update makes a point of the Driftboard with its new, time limited “Driftin'” mode. This allows for two teams of 32 players to ride on boards trying to wipe one another out.

These Driftboards are available in Red Supply Drops. These take place all over the map. Each one contains a Driftboard, weapons, and ammo. (Note to players: Building’s not possible while you’re riding on the Driftboard.)

The update additionally adds a new Infantry Rival. There’s also a fun twist on the normal formula which subtracts, rather than adds to, the number of weapons on offer. This new “Catch” mode removes guns from Fortnite. Instead, you’ll have to utilize grenades and other throwable items in your quest to wipe out the competition.

The update is well worth checking out if you’re looking for a final season 7 hurrah before season 8 makes its debut. The Driftboard was originally supposed to arrive before the holidays. In the end, Epic decided to delay it until now. From the look of things, it was worth the wait.
