Our amazement for great photos and even feature films shot on the iPhone is starting to seem less amazing.
But a French DJ and producer recently took a music video to the next level by animating some of the singing actors with Memoji.
The singularly named Joss created the video for the Joss Project song Baby with an iPhone XS. Joss took advantage of the iPhone’s facial recognition tech on the front-facing camera to create several Memoji.

The release of iOS 12 and the latest iPhone’s TrueDepth camera lets users create custom Animoji.
The camera copies expressions live. Users can create the virtual version of themselves, create an original character or use stock Animoji, like Apple’s monkey, dog or space alien (which all make an appearance in the Baby video.
Joss is not the first to make a music video with Memoji. In December, a Twitter user gave the much-maligned rock group Nickelback Memoji-ed faces in a video with the group’s 2001 hit How You Remind Me.
Baby is a catchy dance number and with several Memoji-ed characters singing and moving to the infectious beat makes it a visual delight. The video was uploaded to YouTube by Scorpio Music in November and featured today by iPhone.fr, a news blog for iOS devices.
