Isamar Mejia says she was shocked when she found out she won an iPhone XS Max and a massive Casetify case bundle in Cult of Mac’s latest giveaway.
“At first I thought I was dreaming,” she said in an email. “I had to refresh my email at least a hundred times! It sounds silly but I waited until the next day to see if it’s still there because I thought it was a scam but soon found out it was real! I am super-excited to get the phone!”

Mejia, 22, lives in Westbury, New York, and works as a sales manager at Target. She also does freelance graphic design on the side.
The XS Max brings a welcome bump up from her current iPhone 8 Plus. She said she’s excited about using the iPhone XS Max’s fancy new camera.
“As a freelancer, I do take lots of subject matter photos,” she said. “I also tend to take lots of pictures regardless, so to see that the camera quality for the iPhone has improved is something I look forward to.”
She said she plans to put the iPhone XS Max camera to the test on a hiking trip.

As part of her prize package, Mejia gets a bundle of Casetify cases and a $100 Casetify credit. She said she will use the credit to make some custom Casetify cases.
“They do have lots of options and so many of them are cute but I wanted to make my own,” she said. “I will also be making one for my brother. The video that showcased the Impact case sold me.”
Mejia found Cult of Mac by watching case reviews on YouTube as well as videos about the differences in various iPhone models.
“Out of all the videos I watched, Cult of Mac had much more information on all things Apple than anything else,” she said. “As for my last comment, I’d like to wish Ste Smith the best of luck in his future and I’d like to thank him for his contribution to Cult of Mac.”
