Ubisoft’s newest Assassin’s Creed game just landed on iOS. Rebellion is a free-to-play strategy RPG in which players assemble a Brotherhood of powerful assassins to fight back against the Templars and the oppression in Spain.

It boasts more than 40 characters, including legendary ones and some brand new to the Assassin’s Creed series — plus limited-time events and premium access if you want it.

We’ve been waiting a long time for Rebellion to hit the App Store. It was first confirmed way back in June of 2017 when Ubisoft showed off a short teaser that offered a glimpse at its “new artistic direction” — and that’s not all that players have to look forward to.

Rebellion is completely different to other Assassin’s Creed titles.

Rebellion turns Assassin’s Creed into a strategy RPG

Rebellion lets fans “experience memories from the past” as they take on covert missions throughout Spain and infiltrate Templar strongholds to put a stop to their plans. You’ll assemble a team of fighters and develop a fortress to house them all.

As your Brotherhood grows, your fortress will expand and you’ll have the ability to improve your assassins’ skills, craft new equipment, and create new medicines. You’ll also need to collect DNA fragments that can help you unlock new heroes and upgrade their abilities.

If you’ve ever played Fallout Shelter, this part of Rebellion will feel very familiar. But it doesn’t stop there; you will also send your assassins on a series of missions. It will be up to you to assemble the best team for each one, and the most effective strategy.

Limited-time events and premium access

If the base missions aren’t enough for you, you can take part in limited-time events with new settings in different eras. They’ll earn you additional rewards, offer the chance to unlock rare assassins, and let you compete in the online leaderboards.

You can enjoy Rebellion without coughing up a penny, but if you really enjoy it and you want more, you can subscribe for “premium access.” This will give you increased daily login rewards, objective items, and resource rewards — and more!

Download Assassin’s Creed Rebellion from the App Store now to get started. If you have a new iPad Pro, you’ll get to enjoy enhanced visuals that take advantage of the additional power offered by Apple’s brand new A12X Bionic chip.
