Having a hard time deciding between whether to buy the new Mac mini or the new iPad Pro?

Why not get both and merge them into one workstation?

Luma Display revealed that its iPad app can be used with the new iPad Pro to turn it into a display for the new Mac mini. The end result is a workstation that gives you the best of both worlds for iOS and macOS.

Check out this brilliant setup:

Luna Display attaches to a Mac’s video port and allows an iPad to function as a monitor. It’s intended to add a second screen to MacBooks, but obviously that’s not all it’s good for.

Getting a separate 4K monitor would make a lot more sense than using a 12.9 inch iPad Pro screen, but it’s not that much smaller than a 13-inch MacBook Air screen.

Luna Display plus Mac mini plus iPad Pro

Buying the cheapest Mac mini and iPad Pro models with a keyboard, mouse, and Apple Pencil would cost over $2000. That total doesn’t include AppleCare+ or the $80 to buy Luna Display. Still, it’s pretty amazing that you can create a versatile workstation like this with Apple’s newest products.

The only thing that would make this better is if someone made a big battery bank that can power that Mac mini for more than 5 hours. That way you could take your Mac/iPad hybrid anywhere your Apple loving heart desires.
