Last year’s iPhone 8 normally starts $599 but you can now get a refurbished unit directly from Apple for $100 less.

Apple carefully checks over these units, replaces some of the components that wear out, and includes a warranty.

With the recent releases of the iPhone XS and XR, Apple likely just received a huge number of iPhone 8 units. It has updated them and put them up for sale.

However, at the time of this writing Apple has no refurbished iPhone 8 Plus units available.

Refurbished iPhone 8 not a risk

Some people are nervous about buying used electronics, but Apple does everything it can to take any risk out. The company promises “We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a 1-year warranty.”

And it  doesn’t skimp on the details. Refurbished iPhone 8 units come with a brand new battery, a new outer shell, and a new white box.

The selection of available configurations is limited, though. Currently, Apple has the iPhone 8 in gold, silver, and space grey casings, but only with 64GB of storage. There are no units with additional capacity at this time.
