Life as a social media influencer has its share of heavy lifting.

But a 20-year-old actor and model is facing a $90,000 lawsuit because he allegedly failed at the seemingly easy job of wearing Snap Spectacles in a few posts on Instagram.

Luka Sabbat was served a lesson in contract obligations earlier this week by PR Consulting, which paid him to wear the sunglass with built-in video camera for all of his 1.4 million Instagram followers to see, according to a story on the website Quartzy.

Sabbat, the lawsuit filed on Oct. 30 claims, was paid to wear Spectacles for two Story posts related to shows and parties during New York Fashion Week in September. He also agreed to wear them for one post for shows in either Paris or Milan later that month.

PR Consulting agreed to pay Sabbat $60,000 and paid him $45,000 upfront.

There is one post on his Instagram feed of him wearing Spectacles with five images, but the lawsuit claims he had not submitted them to the fashion public relations for pre-posting approval.

As part of a Snap marketing campaign, Sabbat was also expected to wear them in public in Milan or Paris in hopes he’d be photographed wearing the sunglasses.

Snap Inc. is the company that founded Snapchat and when it decided to be more than a social media platform, it launched its new name and first piece of hardware, Spectacles, in 2016.

Round and kind of ugly, the first version sold poorly despite lots of hype. This past summer, Snap gave Spectacles a much-needed style reboot and paid to have Sabbat’s face to get people excited about the camera shades.
