Although many Android phone makers pay celebrities millions to endorse their products, some people just can’t stop using an iPhone. The latest case in point is Ksenia Sobchak, a Russian politician, TV host, socialite, and the face of Samsung in her home country.

Which is why she’s in trouble for using an iPhone X during a recent televised interview.

Sobchak attempted to hide the device while being filmed but apparently was unsuccessful. And she’s been seen at events sporting an iPhone. Her contract requires her to use a Samsung phone whenever she’s in public.

So the Korean phone maker is reportedly suing her for 108 million rubles ($1.6 million).

Celebrities just can’t give up their iPhones

This sort of thing happens all the time. The most typical example is spokespeople gushing on Twitter about a new Android device, but using an Apple device to do so.  Gorgeous Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is a recent example, but Oprah Winfrey, Gal Gadot, and John Legere are some other celebrities who’ve been caught using an iPhone or iPad to make paid advertisements for Android devices.

Apple doesn’t pay people to be seen using its products  But plenty are willing to give it free publicity, including a certain resident of the White House.
