Apple could introduce three new iPhones, two new iPads and an entry-level MacBook at its September event, according to a new report based on supply chain info.
In addition to new details about the fall product lineup, the report also offers up a surprising prediction about Apple’s long-awaited AirPower wireless charger,
According to Digitimes, Apple’s entry-level MacBook series, boasting Intel’s 14nm Kaby Lake processor, will be priced at $1,200.
The report also reiterates what is, by now, the standard 2018 iPhone prediction. Namely, that Apple will roll out three iPhones this year: Two with advanced OLED screens, in 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch sizes, and a cheaper LCD model with a 6.1-inch screen.
AirPower pricing
Digitimes also says we’ll finally get a price for the new AirPower wireless charger, which Apple announced almost a year ago but delayed due to technical problems. The company will supposedly set the charging mat’s price tag between $161 and $193.
Due to the randomness of that price point, it seems likely Apple will round it up or down — potentially to $199. A previous report set the AirPower price at a much more palatable $149.
New iPad Pros in 2018?
Apple will also announce new 12.9-inch and 11-inch iPad Pros. (The 11-inch model would take the place of the current 10.5-inch device.) The two new iPad Pros will offer faster charging. There are no plans for a new iPad mini.
As ever, supply chain details can be inaccurate, so there’s no guarantee that this will be correct. Still, the closer we get to the September 2018 iPhone event, the more different reports seem to line up, suggesting that this could be correct.
