Fantastical, the hugely popular calendar app for macOS, just got a big update that adds a number of features users have been calling for.

With version 2.5, you can now send and receive time proposals for your meetings, link your Meetup.com account to sync your events, and more.

Fantastical has long been one of our favorite apps. Not only is it packed with awesome features, but it’s also beautifully designed and a joy to use. Its latest update on macOS brings a number of improvements that make managing your schedule even easier.

Fantastical version 2.5 hits the Mac App Store

The most exciting change is the ability to send time proposals. Sometimes you need to schedule a meeting but you’re not sure when attendees will be free. With time proposals, you can give respondents the opportunity to suggest an alternative time that’s more suitable for them.

Time proposals are available with Exchange, iCloud, Google, and other CalDAV accounts. This update also adds support for sending Exchange invites that do not require a response.

Meetup integration has also been added, giving you the ability to sync and respond to events with your Meetup.com account, and view events from groups that you subscribe to.

Flexibits has also made some nice user interface improvements to timed events. Those that span for multiple days can now be displayed in the “all-day” section so that they don’t clog up your calendar view.

New keyboard shortcuts

There are also a bunch of new shortcuts that make editing timed events easier. For instance, if you hold down the option key while changing an event’s start time, the end time will no longer change automatically.

You can check out the other keyboard shortcuts — and other improvements in Fantastical 2.5 — in the video above. This is a free update for all Fantastical 2 users and you can download it now from the Mac App Store.

If you don’t already own Fantastical 2, you can purchase the macOS version for $49.99. An iPhone version is also available for $4.99, while the iPad version is priced at $9.99.
