It’s time to take flight in Fortnite Battle Royale.
Epic Games just pushed out its latest content update, finally giving players the ability to use jetpacks for a limited time. You can also start completing your week four challenges if you’ve bought the Battle Pass.
We’ve been waiting for Epic to add jetpacks to Fortnite for some time now. They were initially planned for a season three release back in February, but had to be delayed as a result of “some issues.” Now the new limited-time game mode has landed… almost.
Take flight with Fortnite jetpacks
Starting today at 8 a.m. ET, the game mode will be available inside Battle Royale. It will offer “close quarters combat with shotguns,” according to its description, which indicates players will need to fly close to their opponents to take them out.
“If you find a jetpack, double-tap the jump button to take off,” Epic explains. “Keep the button held down to apply thrust. Make sure to land before it runs out of fuel!”
Jetpacks won’t be available inside the regular Battle Royale game modes, so you don’t have to worry about airborne opponents there. And as this is a limited-time mode, you’ll only have one week to enjoy it before it disappears.
Week 4 challenges are live
While you’re waiting for jetpacks to arrive, you can start completing your week four challenges if you’ve purchased a Battle Pass. There are seven in total — as usual — two of which will be particularly difficult to finish. We’ll be publishing our challenge guide later today to help you out.
