Despite poor demand for iPhone X, Apple seemingly forgot about its flagship smartphone when designing the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8. This gorgeous concept video below gives us a taste of what could have been — and proves there should be a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X in the future.
The RED iPhone 8 is identical to its siblings on the inside — Apple didn’t change its internal specifications. But on the outside, it sports shiny red glass and a red aluminum frame, coupled with a black display. It looks absolutely spectacular.
Sadly, the same look isn’t available for iPhone X, which still comes in just two color options. The closest you can get to a RED model for now is Apple’s new leather folio case, or a red skin that you’ll need to apply yourself. Neither of which are anywhere near as fancy.
iPhone X looks good in red
CDid Apple scrap a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X because it wouldn’t look good? Absolutely not. The concept video below offers a glimpse of how pretty a red iPhone X could be — and makes us want one even more.
There’s still plenty of time for Apple to add a RED iPhone X to its lineup before new models arrive this fall. The iPhone X didn’t go on sale until November of last year, which makes more than a month younger than the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
It may also be in Apple’s best interests to do so. With iPhone X sales in the gutter now that the early hype has died down, a new red model could lead to a boost in demand before the device is scrapped in favor of a refreshed model. But let’s not get our hopes up just yet.
