Developers received the first beta build of Apple’s new iOS 11.4 software update, bringing a ton of bug changes and performance improvements to go with a couple of new features.
iOS 11.4 beta 1 can be downloaded directly from Apple’s developer center. You can install it as an over-the-air update once you install the proper profile to your iOS device. The first beta builds of tvOS 11.4 and watchOS 4.3.1 were also released to developers this morning.
The release of iOS 11.4 beta 1 comes just a few days after Apple launched iOS 11.3 to the public. iOS 11.3 was the biggest update Apple has released so far in 2018 and contains a number of new features, one of which gives iPhone users access to battery health information.
Release notes for iOS 11.4 beta 1 don’t provide any clues on what new features might be in store. This could be the last major iOS 11 update before Apple unveils iOS 12 at WWDC 2018 at the beginning of June. The new beta could contain some clues on new Apple features and hardware coming in the future.
iOS 11.4 should be interesting if it’s the release to coincide with this year’s iPads Pro. Beta 1s always reveal more than they should
