Apple’s AirPower wireless charger still doesn’t have an official release date. However, a new report claims that Apple’s charging pad — allowing users to charge their iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch simultaneously — will debut in March.

While no date is given, the report suggests that the AirPower Qi charging pads will be available to buy in Apple Stores, as well as other select retailers, as soon as next month.

Backing up a previous report

The AirPower charging pad was unveiled alongside the latest iPhones in September last year. At the time, Apple teased that a 2018 release was on the cards, although it declined to give an exact date.

The new report appears to confirm an earlier one in which a Best Buy told The Apple Post that AirPower would be available in late March, along with a new AirPods case that supports wireless charging.

How much will it cost?

As with the unspecified release date, Apple also hasn’t revealed exactly how much it will be charging for AirPower. One possible price point was suggested by Polish retailer X-Kom, who claimed that the device would be priced at 999 Złotych, the equivalent of around $200 in the United States.

While that’s definitely a premium price for a wireless charging pad, it doesn’t seem like it would be out of the question for Apple’s pricing strategy.

Other rumors have suggested that Apple will debut a range of new devices in March, possibly including a new iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. If that’s correct, it would make sense that Apple also chooses the month to debut its eagerly anticipated AirPower tech.
